Hot Sauce Review

 HeatFlavourRatingScore
No Picture Harissa Le Phare du Cap Bon 5.0 4.5 6.0 4.74
This thick and strange hot sauce from Tunesia comes in a tube! It comes out as a thick paste and has a distinct - yet somewhat weak - taste of fresh chiles and moderate heat; leading me to believe that this paste is intended as a base to other sauces. Give it a try if you are adventurous and come across it cheap!

Walker's Wood Jerk Sauce 3.5 6.0 5.5 4.73

Salsa Tamazula 2.0 5.5 6.0 4.71
This sauce tastes like a milder version of the infamous "cholula" hot sauces (the ones with the wooden caps). Good flavor, although seemingly lacking somewhat, and very little heat to speak of. Good for lightweights and other non-chiliheads. Probably would serve seasoning of most Mexican foods rather well, but don't expect much spice.

No Picture La Guacamaya 3.0 5.0 6.0 4.68
A mediochre Mexican sauce without too much heat - or flavor, for that matter. Would go well in enhancing the "Mexican" taste of said foods, but I would still prefer a sauce with a better Mexican flavor such as "Cholula".

Auntie Bev's Hot Sauce 8.4 3.9 5.4 4.61
A very thick hot sauce filled with hot chili seeds that exhibits a slightly sweet aroma. The flavor is very weak and slightly bitter. This sauce is mostly heat; it's extremely hot, and will most certainly be too hot for most foods. Although it's very hot, I wouldn't recommend it to a serious chilihead due to the conflicting flavor, but it works well for adding a whole lot of heat quickly to fast food, and since it's thick, it stays put.

No Picture Louisiana Gold Hot Sauce 2.0 5.0 6.0 4.58
A delicious and versatile Louisiana style sauce with a fantastic spicy flavor. Use liberally on bland foods!

Cajun Sunshine 4.0 5.5 5.0 4.39
A very thin sauce with a good flavor which is unfortunately masked by a strong vinegar taste; a slight bitter aftertaste is also noticeable. Probably not the best choice for a Louisiana sauce, but a good effort.

Scarlet O' Pepper 4.0 4.0 5.0 4.00
A good all-purpose hot sauce, but with weak flavor and mild heat. This sauce goes well on almost anything, but is particularly suited to fast food dishes.
