A BBQ sauce with aspirations to become a hot sauce, Montezuma's offers excellent flavor and spice, and works well on steaks and chicken. I would recommend this as a table sauce.

A fabulous tasty sauce with a bit of a zing! This sauce works easily compliments chicken dishes and Asian cuisine with it's spicy herb flavor. Well suited to the South Pacific variety of foods.

What's that you say? You like your hot sauce in a spray bottle? You eat steak for breakfast, lunch and dinner? Well, by golly, this is the stuff for you! Ok, well, it's not really a hot sauce, in fact, the bottle calls it "Gourmet Grilling Mari-Sauce" which according to my gibberish-to-english dictionary roughly translates to "tasty stuff to spray on meat while it's cooking" But what is it, exactly, you ask? Well, it's basically liquid smoke, flavouring/meat tenderizer (eg, soy sauce) and some type of ripping hot chilli extract all packaged up in a thin, dark liquid. According to the directions, you "spray generously over meat, fish & vegetables during grilling process". Sounds pretty straightforward you might think, but they don't warn you about spraying this stuff indoors. So i'll say it: USE IT OUTDOORS ONLY! When sprayed onto your hot cooking surface, it generates a fierce amount of lung-searing, tear-jerking, blinding smoke. Well, I guess it should be obvious. At any rate, this stuff really jazzes up your meat. And i'm talking about beef here. The real deal. Spray it on liberally, let it marinate for awhile then throw it on the grill. If you want it hotter, spray more on while it's cooking. A little goes a long way. If the BBQ is your thing, this is the stuff for you. An excellent idea, good flavour and plenty of heat. Good job guys!

A thin and highly toxic pepper sauce which boasts more heat than flavor. A good addition to some meals, but it's lack of flavour tends to detract signficantly from it's usefulness. Quite hot - use sparingly!

When too hot isn't hot enough, some of this stuff is what you need. Excruciatingly painful even in tiny doses, Dave's Total Insanity packs enough heat to subdue even the most seasoned chilihead. More painful that a kick in the teeth. Definately NOT recommended for amateurs!!

After a number of comments from visitors on this sauce, I decided to wade through the collection and resample this one. I have mixed views on the overall sauce, but it does work extremely well on some foods. The flavour is perhaps it's strongest point; it's not an overwhelmingly strong flavor, but reminiscent of many true Mexican hot sauces. The sauce provides a very distinct flavor to the food, and it's not extremely hot so it can be applied fairly liberally to your choice of food. I should point out, however, that this sauce only works well with certain foods; experimentation is in order if you plan on using this sauce much. It is also relatively expensive as an import item, although considering how long a bottle lasts, this should be the least of anyone's concern. This sauce imparts a distinct Mexican flavor to the food, and the flavor is similar in many ways to the 'Valentina' hot sauce, of which it can be easily substituted (or vice-versa). This sauce goes best on Mexican foods, or in particular, beans, chicken, beef and cheese. I have had good success with this sauce as a condiment on chicken, or combined with some 'Valentina' hot sauce in some refried beans. A good flavor overall, but not very strong. Heat is medium. Cost is relatively high. If you're looking for authentic Mexican, this sauce is among the best (according to visitors and friends). If you like Valentina, try this too!

An aptly named insanely hot sauce, Dave's is the ultimate addition to soups and dishes and delivers a real wallop. Excellent on almost any food, although the heat tends to be overwhelming and tends to mask rather than enhance the food's flavour. Put a couple of drops in salsas to put them over the top, or carefully mix a little into glazes or other sauces. This hot sauce is way hotter than what the average connoisseur would enjoy, and as such, Dave's should be used sparingly, as a small amount goes a very long way!
